We are pleased to share that Ingrid VanZanten will join the Camp Kanuga team this spring. As Camp Director, she will oversee all operations of the overnight camp program. “Please join us in welcoming Ingrid to the Kanuga family—we are thrilled to have her join our community,” says Kanuga President & CEO Michael Sullivan.
Ingrid is a native Utahn and has dedicated her career to fostering growth, connection, and transformation through education and outdoor experiences. With a background as a public school teacher, she has a deep understanding of youth development and the power of learning in community. Her passion for the camping industry has led her to years of leadership in Episcopal camps, where she has helped create meaningful, inclusive experiences for campers and staff alike.
“I am beyond excited to begin this incredible journey. Camp has always been a place of transformation, connection, and adventure, and I am honored to step into this role as we continue to create meaningful experiences for campers, staff, and families alike,” Ingrid says.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, Ingrid believes in the power of nature to inspire resilience, confidence, and personal growth. Her skills in staff development, youth programming, and leadership training reflect her commitment to building strong, supportive communities. She is excited to continue cultivating spaces where young people and staff thrive, bringing her vision for collective transformation and community-building to Camp Kanuga.
“It is such a blessing to welcome Ingrid to Kanuga! I’ve been privileged to know, learn from, and serve with Ingrid in various ways since 2019, and having her to enter this role to lead and steward ‘this ol’ place’ calls for songs of loudest praise,” says program director Elise Croak.
Camp Kanuga is a nonprofit summer camp affiliated with The Episcopal Church. Camp Kanuga registration and staff applications are open for this summer.
